Alternate playing modes

Take things up a notch with house rules that amp up (or down) play to suit the party.

  • 21 EXACT

Teams finish the game by landing exactly on 21. If any team crosses 21 points at the end of the inning, they “bust” and their score is reset to 13.

  • FRAME GAME

Similar to bowling, each game consists of 10 frames. Players toss as normal and each team gets the points they scored. Highest score after the 10th frame wins.

  • NON-CANCELLATION

This game mode is quicker than usual, because scoring doesn’t cancel, and instead, every point counts. It can be played as first past 21 or 21 exact.

  • KNOCKOUT

Great for larger groups. Two players face off, alternating tossing 4 bags each. The player with the higher score advances to the next round. If they tie, then both players advance. The next two players take a turn, following the same rules, The game continues till only one player remains.

  • FOOTHOLE

If the bags slide off the cornhole, then the players on the receiving end of the board are allowed to kick the bags back onto the board immediately. Bags kicked onto the board count as 1 point, and bags kicked in the hole are worth 5 points. Players may not already have their foot touching the board.

  • SPEEDHOLE

Teams align as normal rules, except there are NO TURNS, and the first team to score 21 points wins. If you are retrieving a bag and touch a live bag thrown by the opposing team, that counts as 1 point to the opposing team. *Teams may not directly throw away from the board and towards another player to be awarded points.
